✨The Calm Within✨
Curated by Dr. Karen Singh, where modern neuroscience meets ancient wisdom. This space is dedicated to exploring the powerful connection between the nervous system, mind-body medicine, and holistic health practices that transform lives from the inside out.

Feeling vs function

The human body contains a vast network of nerves spanning over 94km. However, only a fraction of these nerves are dedicated to the sensory portion responsible for experiencing pain sensations. On the other hand, the motor and autonomic parts of the nervous system play a more significant role in the overall functioning of the entire body.
When enduring stress, our bodies can enter an overactive state known as "fight or flight" mode. It's worth considering how many of us might currently be in this survival mode, even though it may not always involve life-threatening situations. These physiological responses have profound impacts on our bodies, with stress hormones like cortisol, norepinephrine, and adrenaline being released. Consequently, heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing increase. Continuously experiencing this heightened state can lead to serious damage as these hormones are continuously released.

One way our bodies signal that something is amiss in the nervous system is through the emergence of pain symptoms. This indicates dysfunction and hampers overall healing and functioning. Chiropractic care plays a crucial role in optimizing the nervous system's performance, facilitating better healing, and alleviating the impact of stress. By adjusting the spine, interference between the brain and body is removed, benefiting both children and adults who experience physical, chemical, and emotional stress that affects the Nerve System.

Contrary to common belief, chiropractic care offers more than just relief from back and neck pain. It serves a broader purpose that might have been misunderstood due to word of mouth, past experiences, and misinformation. The spine's connection to all bodily functions through the nervous system is profound.

Chiropractic adjustments have far-reaching benefits for individuals of all ages, from babies to adults, improving various aspects of health and performance. Health isn't solely about the absence of pain; it revolves around how well we function and the quality of our lives. Therefore, it's essential to assess whether we are adapting healthily to stress and if our brain and body are communicating with ease.
