Whiplash gets its name from the whip-like motion that happens when the head suddenly snaps forward and then backward. Many people don't even realize they have received a whiplash injury until weeks or months later when the problem becomes persistent and leads to other issues

When the neck is whipped forward and back again, a number of things can happen to the spine and surrounding soft tissue. Some of the issues that occur after the initial whiplash injury include disc bulges and herniation, subluxations/misalignments, injured bones in the spine, irritated and damaged nerves, and pulled ligaments and muscles in the neck. In short, whiplash can really throw your cervical spine area out of whack and cause damage that isn’t immediately obvious.

Whiplash injuries vary  from mild to very severe. If you experience any of these symptoms after whiplash, visit a chiropractor immediately. Things that seem mild may actually be symptoms of more severe injury but the good news is we can treat them quickly and efficiently.
